not only assisted in training the dispatch staff, but also wrote the training guidelines that are currently used by staff. Shanna also volunteered to assist in the expansion of North Comm’s training program. Shanna headed up a project of updating and re-writing North Comm’s training manual while working towards her Communications Training Officer (CTO) Certification. Currently Shanna is responsible for maintaining and tracking our Monthly Training Program, a collateral duty that required Shanna to create a tracking program for all of the training as well as incorporate it into a web based system. With all that Shanna has accomplished during her relatively short time with North Comm, it is no surprise that she was nominated by her peers as our 2010 Dispatcher of the Year.
Shanna is the peer-selected Dispatcher of the Year for 2009-2010. Some of the comments made in his nominations were:
“She put a lot into training, and has helped make our training program a success. She keeps a positive attitude on shift, and keeps us all laughing.”
“She goes above and beyond in her duties on the dispatch floor and never shy’s away from taking on new assignments. Add teaching ROSS classes, overseeing the Monthly Training and any other special assignments and you have one terrific dispatcher!”
